Filipino American Heritage Month

Pa Sivv, why are you wearing that Super Man logo?

Just cause... All the AB Samahan officers are wearing it today

Pa Sivv, stop being so passive. At least know why you’re wearing the logo. Today’s AB Samahan meeting theme is superman.

Why is that?

Well I can’t say much now… But to give you a hint, the superman theme is in commemoration for a person that has played a very significant role in our organization. Unless you go to the meeting, I can’t tell you until after.

How teasing!

Yup. Anyway, like we said, we’re doing Jen the favor of taking over her cultural presentation this week. Q. Rius, would you like to do the honors?

Yes! This week’s presentation is dedicated to Filipino American Heritage Month!

Yup, please follow the oh-so obvious link after our dialogue. When all the slides are done, please refer back to this site.

How exciting!

Today four million Americans of Philippine Ancestry live in the United States. There is no doubt that we have made many contributions to the American society in arts, sciences, music and literature. In addition, we can never forget the 250,000 Filipinos whom fought for the US during WWII.
Did you hear about the bill Bob Filner introduced over a week ago? And Obama's Statement on Filipino American Heritage Month? They are both trying to get Filipino American Heritage Month recognized :]

No, but I'll probably check up on it after I sleep. Gosh, I'm tired.
... Q. Rius, you have this creepy smile on right now. What's up?

Oh, I'm sorry. I was just thinking about how grateful I am to be a Filipino American. Don't you feel the same way?

Ooo, do you, Hayta?

Shut up, Pa Sivv. Well... I guess I kinna do. I never really thought about the origin of Filipino Americans... And I still can't believe we first settled in Louisiana. You'd think it would've been somewhere in the west coast. Anyway, good night everyone.

Time for happyslip!
